LIBRARY GUIDE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Thinking about the topic

Make a plan of your search

You can start planning your search thinking about the topic, the research question and the concepts or keywords that best identify them. Bear in mind:

  • which is your research/assignment's topic (broad analysis)
  • which is the focus of the research question (specific analysis: depth / time available)
  • how can you relate and organize concepts (you may use tools such as mind maps for this purpose)

Did you know?

There are tools that help you to organize the main concepts of your topic, such as mind maps or concept maps. Here are some examples: mindmeister, bubbl.us, wisemapping, etc..
