No próximo dia 8 de novembro, das 14h30 às 15h30, irá decorrer uma sessão de apresentação de dois recursos especializados nas áreas das engenharias: INSPEC (base bibliográfica) e KNOVEL (ebooks). A sessão terá lugar na B019 e será conduzida por Christian Vier, da editora Elsevier.

A INSPEC, é uma base de dados bibliográficos que abrange áreas como: física, engenharia eletrotécnica, eletrónica, computadores, engenharia de controlo e produção, tecnologias da informação, entre outras. Serão abordados os seguintes tópicos:

• exploração da plataforma Engineering Village

• modalidades de pesquisa: thesaurus;  dados numéricos, ilustrados por diversos exemplos de pesquisa.

A KNOVEL é uma base de dados de ebooks que permite o acesso ao texto integral e a conteúdos interativos de livros em diversas áreas de engenharia. Serão abordados os seguintes tópicos:

• apresentação da plataforma e suas funcionalidades

• modalidades de pesquisa: texto e propriedade de materiais, ilustrados com casos reais de utilizadores.

A sessão é gratuita mas requer inscrição prévia. A sessão decorrerá em inglês.

- Permite o acesso a uma vasta coleção de Ebooks, especializada nas áreas das Engenharias.
- Contém diferentes tipos de livros (manuais técnicos, obras de referência, monografias, etc.), de diversos editores, acompanhados de conteúdos interativos (tabelas, gráficos, equações, etc.), bem como casos de estudo em engenharia, que constituem uma mais valia para esta coleção.
